F.A.Q

What is a Tiny Home on Wheels (THOW)?

A THOW is a fully built tiny home constructed on a trailer chassis, designed for mobility and flexibility. It offers the comfort of a traditional home with the convenience of being transportable.

Can I install solar on my tiny home?

Yes. Our tiny homes are compatible with solar systems, and many customers choose to add solar panels for off-grid living. We can prepare the home with the necessary wiring or space for equipment, and you can work with your preferred solar installer to complete the system.

Does the home stay on the chassis, or can it be removed?

Our tiny homes are engineered for flexibility. Each unit is built on a durable chassis that allows it to function as a Tiny Home on Wheels (THOW), but it can also be removed from the chassis and installed on a permanent foundation if preferred.

You can choose either option based on your long-term plans:

  • Keep It on the Chassis: Ideal for mobility, RV-style placement, ease of relocation, and maintaining the THOW classification.
  • Remove It for Foundation Placement: Suitable for permanent living, building-permit requirements, or integrating the home into a fixed site setup.
Do you handle installation?

Yes, we are responsible for installing your tiny home after delivery. We will have workers on site to facilitate the set up process. You are responsible for ensuring that the site is prepared.

Can I install a fresh water tank, grey water tank, or black water tank?

Yes. Your tiny home can be outfitted with fresh water, grey water, and black water tanks depending on your setup needs. These can be added during the build or installed later as a customization. We can also design the home with tank connections and access points ready.

Can the home be customized for off-grid living?

Absolutely. PineTHOW can prepare your tiny home for off-grid capability with options such as solar-ready wiring, propane appliances, composting toilet compatibility, tank systems, and off-grid heating/cooling solutions. Off-grid configurations may vary depending on the model and availability.
